EPISODE ONE: HOMELESS LIKE HEMINGWAY
Billy Mack (William McNamara), recently discharged from a mental facility after claiming to have been abducted by aliens, is kicked out of his only home—the tool shed at his niece's house. He learns from Dr. Grayson (Alison Eastwood) that his beloved dog, Boo, needs a heart transplant and will do anything to save him. Living out of his Monte Carlo, Billy arranges a lunch meeting to solve his financial woes with a wealthy boarding school friend, Victor de la Warre (Angus Macfadyen), and his associate, Claudia (Claudia Charriez), which results in an offer to become a prostitute. Billy runs into his former manager, Artie Shaw (Randall Batinkoff), who offers to get Billy an audition for old times' sake. While on set, his old friend, Joey Mangipanni (Billy Baldwin), gives him inspirational advice to embrace his homelessness with confidence and pride.
